Privacy controls

All of these are in the app under Me → Safety & privacy.

  • Everyone: you appear in Nearby, and anyone can open your profile.
  • People I’ve messaged: only members you’ve chatted with can see you.
  • Nobody (Incognito): you don’t appear in Nearby or search, and looking at someone’s profile leaves no visit. Only members you’ve nodded at can still see you. Incognito comes with some plans.

The Me screen has a quick switch between Online and Incognito. When you leave Incognito, Ryyyder asks how widely to show you, so it never makes you more visible without asking.

This decides whether others see when you’re around, with a green Active dot in Nearby and on your profile. Turn it off and you’re still listed and can still be found; only the dot goes.

So, in short: Show I’m active hides when you’re online; Incognito hides you.

On, you stay in Nearby for a while after you close Ryyyder. Off, you’re shown only while you’re active, and Ryyyder keeps no record of your usual area.

Nearby needs your location to show people around you. Ryyyder uses an area, never your exact position, and turning location off removes the area it kept.

Show who it’s from decides whether a message notification names the sender. Turn it off if other people can see your phone.
